Fireworks Spectacular Also on Card

(Slinger, WI) Memorial Day weekend at the Slinger Super Speedway traditionally ushers in a host a big summer racing events, and this weekend is no exception as E.H. Wolf and Sons, Inc. presents the Memorial Day Special. The Sunday night, May 25, program features a 75-lap main event for the super late models and is always one of the bigger races of the season.

Slinger, Wis., May 18—It had been a long time coming, since August of 2011 to be exact, but Lowell Bennett found his way back to victory lane at the Slinger Super Speedway in exciting fashion, edging Steve Apel to win the Alan Kulwicki Memorial 60-lap super late model feature Sunday night.

(Slinger, WI) The 35th annual running of the SUPERSEAL Slinger Nationals presented by Miller Lite will feature a six-time winner, as it was recently announced that Matt Kenseth will return to Wisconsin for the prestigious event, Tuesday, July 15. After a self-imposed year off, Kenseth returns to Slinger Speedway, where he cut his short-track teeth. "I was in the stands watching Ross race last year and figured I might as well go back out and race 'em" said the 2003 NASCAR Cup Champion. "I missed running Slinger and I'm looking forward to returning."


50,000 Pennies Up For Grabs For Kids

(Slinger, WI) Sunday night the Slinger Super Speedway plays host to the 22nd annual running of the Alan Kulwicki Memorial. The event honors the 1992 NASCAR Cup Champion and former Slinger Super Speedway track champion who perished in a plane crash in 1993.

Matt Kenseth, who would later capture his own NASCAR championship, scored the first Kulwicki Memorial in 1993. Last year James Swan, sporting the same #97 that Kulwicki made famous while racing at Slinger Speedway, drove to a spirited win over Rob Braun.

Slinger, Wis., May 4—“The dude is old enough to be my grandpa and he beat me on the racetrack,” was how defending Slinger Speedway track champion Steve Apel summed it up after finishing second to 65-year old Conrad Morgan in the season opening Miller Lite 75-lap super late model feature Sunday afternoon at the Slinger Speedway.

“I hope he was thinking that when he was trying to catch me,” quipped Morgan from victory lane after holding off Apel’s charge amidst heavy lapped traffic to capture the win, “And again when he saw the checkered flag and then saw my bumper.”


Gates open at Noon Racing 2pm

(Slinger, WI) The 2014 Miller Lite Spring Opener has been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon May 4. With 30 mph east winds, on and off rain, and temperatures in the 40's the Slinger Speedway management was forced to make the tough decision to postpone the originally scheduled April 27th season opener to this Sunday May 4th. Spectator gates will open at noon with opening ceremonies at 2 pm and racing to follow.


2013 Slinger Banquet 05(Hartford, WI) by Fay Hendricks - The blustery winter night was warmed by a racing family reunion during Slinger Speedway’s Awards Banquet Saturday. Capping off Slinger’s 66th year of operation, Todd Thelen and Rodney Erickson celebrated their first season at the helm of the quarter-mile oval. After a wonderful meal and beverages, the awards portion of the program was interspersed with door prizes and finished with the eagerly-awaited drawings for valuable race equipment.

Slinger Bees champion Nick Schmidt was the first to thank Slinger’s new leaders, telling the audience, “I race three nights a week. I look forward to Sunday the most. At most tracks we’re just a show-filler. Todd and Rodney listen to us.” Schmidt thanked fellow teams for their help, adding, “Hopefully I can come back some more. I love four-cylinder racing.” Rookie of the year was young Dale Kiley-Schaefer, who began by thanking his father, claiming, “He got me into it. I learned a lof from other drivers, especially Nick (Schmidt) and Brandon (Tackes). It was a good year.”

"I was in the stands watching Ross race last year and figured I might as well go back out and race 'em" said the 6 time Nationals Champion. "I missed running Slinger and I'm looking forward to returning".

Slinger, Wis., Sept. 8—Brad Mueller charged to the lead following a lap 51 restart and held off a closing Dennis Prunty to win the Tundra Super Late Model Series 75-lap season finale Sunday afternoon at the Slinger Super Speedway.

“This car was awesome today, “Mueller said from victory lane, “I have to thank my crew as they worked really hard this week.”

“This has been a dream come true, “Mueller continued, “I won my dirt race last night (at Plymouth) and then to win to win at Slinger Speedway on Sunday, it doesn’t get any better than this.”

Slinger, Wis., Sept. 1—Proving he is never to be counted out, Dennis Prunty won the 100-lap super late model feature with a thrilling and controversial last lap pass on Austin Luedtke while Steve Apel claimed the 2013 super late model track championship Sunday night at the Slinger Super Speedway.
